Not all dreams come true. Sometimes our dreams die. This can be the most heartbreaking of all because if you do not have your dream… then what do you have? You can get lost pining away for what could have been or even what should have been for your life.
The truth is not all dreams come true. Not all dreams are meant to be… and yes, this can be heartbreaking and painful.
The death of a dream is not the death of dreaming.
The death of a dream can be the birth of a new beginning.
It is all a matter of perspective.
Letting go of those dead dreams can be some of the most painful days. And just when you thought you let go of the dream guess what happens?! The pain and agony will hit you when you least expect it to *sigh*
Surrendering and releasing dreams is painful and at times may feel devastating. Yet, when we release and begin to trust in Father to bring new life He can and will heal the broken pieces.
Death of dreams does not have to be the death of you. In order to heal and begin dreaming again we MUST do the hard work. We have to forgive God and forgive others… but, most importantly we have to forgive ourselves.
My dream of getting pregnant again kept me stuck for years. I was so determined to have another baby that I did not take care of my own health. I was so afraid to lose weight just to get pregnant again that I allowed myself to stay stagnant in life. This is NEVER good!
Even as I began my journey into healthier learning I always kept that dream at the forefront of my mind. I played games with my dream. I would imagine if this than that situations. I was fascinated and laser focussed on my dream… so, focussed that I lost sight of the blessings in front of me.
Have you stopped dreaming?
Has a dream you have held onto for so long recently died?
Have you stopped living because of the hope of a dream?
Dreams are meant to be lived.
Dreams are not supposed to suck the life out of us.
Your dream might be more of an obsession than a dream.
Take some time today to figure out what your dreams really say about the state of your heart, mind and health. Reflect and pray about what is to come next in your life. And do not allow the death of a dream to kill you from the inside out. This dying is really a rebirth if you take the time and allow the healing to begin.
Father God help us to release and let go of any dreams that are keeping us stuck in life. Help us to trust and believe Your dreams for us are far better and more exciting than our own dreams. Help us to surrender and to heal. Lead us. Guide us. Make us whole again. Amen.
