12183914_10208131460027679_615933518783520967_o How do you know He has your whole heart?

How do you know you have released everything to Him?

Your life will show signs of forgiveness, a non-judgmental attitude plus loving words and actions… to name a few.

Is this me sometimes?

Yes.

Is this me all the time?

No.

And If I am being all that honest there is actually more evidence that I have not completely given Him my heart.

I am resentful that we are struggling financially.

I am angry someone has not answered my email.

I am frustrated to still be struggling with feeling worthy.

I am judgmental.

I am critical with my words.

I cuss like a sailor.

To me all of these are signs of still not fully surrendering my heart to God. All of these are signs I still need to release and fully trust Father.

But, how?! How do we really give him our whole hearts if we are still struggling to grasp ahold of things of this world?

And maybe that is just it.

Maybe this journey of release is more about a daily choice to trust despite our feelings.

Maybe this journey of giving Him our hearts is really more about engaging in a personal relationship with the One who knows the depth of our pain and struggle.

Maybe just maybe when we stop filing away the pain we can learn to live in His light.

Because when we live in the light of His love our choices begin to change. Our thoughts begin to transform. And our desires begin to shift.

Yes, we will still have a slip of the tongue.

Yes, we will still make mistakes.

Yes, we will occasionally run to food, alcohol or shopping instead of running to Him.

But, the more we press in.

The more we seek.

The more we stop settling.

The more He will soften our hearts, give us strength and bring us through another day.

Another trial.

Another painful moment.

Another moment of self-destruction and defeat.

The more we choose to live in the light and the more we surrender to Him the more we can learn and grow.

When we stop holding back our feelings and struggles He will begin to birth in us a new dream.

Release. Trust. And believe your days of dreaming are far from done!
